Domaintools is at the live auction market once more, this time with a 50 domain premium auction (Scheduled for Sept 24th during the TRAFFIC conference) They were supposed to be releasing the list on Sept 17th, but instead released a “sneak peak” list of about 30 domain names. Needless to say, there are some “interesting” picks.
Overall, the list looks sub-par, for not just a Domaintools auction, but compared to the Rick Latona and Moniker Auctions, pretty embarassing.
So, what went wrong? Domaintools hired a third party company, DomainConsultant.com to evaluate the domain names, and determine which ones made the grade. Either DomainConsultant did a rotten job or the submissions for this auction were awful. Either way, this auction is looking to be a bust.
When a domain name like NameLender.comĀ makes it on a list of the Top 50 of “Thousands and Thousands” of submissions, your not going to have the quality supply of domains you want.
Best of luck to DomainTools/Aftermarket.com - your going to need it.

As some of you may already know, we are experiencing a few issues with the new site. This is expected, considering we just launched it. Despite all of our checks, thinking everything is fine, there is always a problem or two.
Currently we are working on the site loading better in IE, and our Premium Section is temporarily disabled while we resolve an issue there. We should have everything cleaned up soon and appreciate everyones patience.
On another note, there are 3 premium subscription spots left at the $7.95 intro rate. After that they will be $12.95 per month.
Thanks,
Justin

So far, things are off pretty smoothly. A few quarks here and there but were getting v4 running great. The response has been overwhelming positive, but we knew there would be a few who missed the old version. You can still access that version using this link:
http://namebio.com/old/
For those of you considering signing up for the Premium membership, I wanted to show a screen shot of what you can expect. We show you what the domain name sold for, and what TLDs are available that are probably worth picking up.
Just a reminder, the first 10 spots are grandfathered in at the introductory rate of $7.95 per month - there are only 5 spots remaining. After that the price will likely go up to $12.95 per month.

We are happy to announce the launch of NameBio 4.0. Its been a while comming, but we’ve listened to suggestions over the past year and came up with a few new concepts which should help make NameBio even more usable.
Changes:
- No longer Need to hit the search button, Searches are performed automatically as you change your search attributes
- Completely Redesigned for Easier Navigation
- Detailed Sales Info Page. This includes past sales information
- Graphing System, available to all you pattern fans (LLLL.com’s, ect)
- Premium Service (will discuss below)
Our premium service is subscription based. We track domain sales daily and search for sold keywords in other TLDs. For example, if a keyword.com sells for $5,000 we check and report the availability in other TLDs where we believe the value exists. The system runs automatically twice per day and just requires you to login to view.
The service is available for the first 10 subscribers at $7.95 per month. After the first 10 the price will be raised to $13.95 per month.

I know that with a new operating system out, and im sure another in the works, Windows XP is looking like a thing of the past - but quite a few computers still run thisĀ OS. So what has inspired Microsoft to allow WindowsXP.com to expire and make it ways to the NameJet auction platform? Perhaps it was an accident? Either way, someone will be the new owner of WindowsXP in just under 3 days time and possibly a UDRP to follow.

A domain name with massive advertising for its keyword, the name reached $20,200 on the drop market yesterday. Congrats to the new owner, this one may be a decent revenue producer if parked.

I will be heading out to Vegas on July 27th for a couple of events. Im not sure if any of my readers will be there, but if you are, please drop me an email or hit my contact pages up and we’ll see if we can arrange a meeting. I plan to meet up with Dutch Boyd, anyone familiar with the World Series of poker will probably recognize that name. We are planning on having a “domain” poker game while I’m out there - all are welcome.

Several weeks ago the domain name LH.com was lost via UDRP to Lufthansa. It changed hands on the whois information was updated accordingly. It is now being rumored that the domain name has since returned to its previous owner, FMA (Future Media Architects). The historical whois would back this possibility as it currently displays FMA as the registrant. Will update with more info as it becomes available.

I wanted to share a funny story with my readers. Last night after spending some time at a few local bars, a few friends and I made our way to the Casino for some poker. We all sat down at our respective tables, and I start making conversation with the gentlemen to my left. As it turns out he is a web developer that doubles for a domainer. In fact, he is an active member on NamePros forum.
He recently was working on a trade deal with another Domainer that I know. The other domainer asked me for advice on the deal, I suggested what he do and they made a trade accordingly. I had thought that the deal was fantastic for the other domainer and suggested to him to do whatever it took to make it work, he did. A couple day later im sitting next to the “other” guy at a poker table.
Just when you think the world is a huge place, it gets just a little bit smaller.

A premium baseball domain name, Centerfield.com closed at NameJet today for $18,400. Some fierce bidding took place at the very end, with several of the larger buyers stepping in to try and win this one over. Considering we are in the middle of Baseball season it may be a bit too late to do any development work on this one, but I still see some decent revenue being made when this one gets parked. Congrats to the new owners.
